A Falling Star

TW: blood and injuries

Chapter 2

"Was there supposed to be a meteor passing by today?" Maggie asked.

Nina looked out the window. Sure enough, there was something strange in the sky. She pulled out her phone.

The internet was ablaze with speculation. Scientists had seemingly not even noticed it approaching.

"Oh! That's one of the Dominions!" said Muriel.

Nina looked at the young bookseller. "Dominions?"

"I— I mean... aliens? Um... I need to call Mr. Fell! Thank you for the cupperty, miss!"

The two women exchanged confused looks as Muriel ran across the street. They fumbled with the keys, but managed to get in. The angel shut the door behind themself.

"Mr. Demon Crowley?" they called.

The serpent on the desk flicked its tongue.

"Hi! Um, there's something bad happening! I... I think?" They shook their head. "I don't know yet! But the nice record human pointed out what she thought was a mee-tee-orr and when I looked, I realized that it was one of the Dominions."

The serpent lifted its head. Crowley shifted to his humanoid form and ran off into the back of the shop, calling for Muriel to follow. He dug through one of the rooms and pulled out a telescope. Crowley set it up by the window and started searching the sky.

"It can't be."

"Do you know who it is?" Muriel asked.

"I'd know those damn wings anywhere. Come on."

"Where are we going?"

"We're meeting that bastard in Heaven."

"But you said you didn't want to see Aziraphale anymore, and he's there."

"It doesn't fucking matter. Not right now." He grinned. "They wouldn't be back unless something bad happened."

He didn't quite know how right he was. Just moments before, Aziraphale had been impaled.

"Wh—"

"It's nothing against you, Aziraphale," Uriel assured. "We just don't like you."

"We—" Michael started.

She was cut off by the sound of every window blowing out. Cerulean flames shot up from the floor. When they'd faded, the group of archangels backed away from the figure in the center.
